One response to “Registration is open: “Exploring Right Relationships”

  1. Hi there– For the past 4 years, I have been supporting The recent sponsorship by Friends General Conference of a group of Quakers to attend the annual White Privilege Conference, which explores issues of racial justice through the lens of Whiteness as well as through intersections of identities that are either historically privileged or historically marginalized. The 2,000-person conference draws a large group from the educational field across the country. This year, more than 80 Quakers attended.

Today I learned about a conference dedicated to research in education, and this year’s conference–taking place this weekend apparently–seems to be focusing on issues of unexamined White privilege and systemic racism in education.

Given the FAHE conference this summer, by any chance, is anyone from FAHE involved? Did anyone from FAHE attend the White Privilege Conference last month? I know that the assistant head of school from Scattergood went for one day…

I’m not a member of FAHE, nor do I work in a school system. I am a White Friend exploring issues of unconscious bias and unexamined privilege. Thanks for reading me.
